Louis George Toth Jr., passed away suddenly at his home in Prescott, Arizona, on May 24, 2017. Lou was born on Oct. 22, 1959, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Louis and Betty Toth, who preceded him in death.

Lou graduated from Owosso High School in 1978 and then moved to Prescott, where he obtained an A.A. degree in nursing from Yavapai College. He went on to gain a B.S. in nursing in 1989 and a Master’s in nursing in 2014, both from the University of Phoenix. Lou dedicated his professional life to nursing and continued as an RN at Yavapai Regional Medical Center until his passing.

Lou was admired and respected by colleagues for his gentle, caring approach to his patients.

After spending time in Northern California and Oregon, Lou returned to Prescott to be closer to his parents. On Oct. 8, 2011, Lou married Wendy Waite Toth and settled in Prescott with Wendy’s daughters, Jessica and Lauren Canul.

Lou was a man of varied interests. He enjoyed construction and home projects and was in the final stages of building a new home. He also enjoyed the outdoors and was an animal lover. Hiking, biking and golf were among the activities he enjoyed while possessing extensive knowledge of botany and nature. He also sought to learn as much as he could to become the best nurse possible to best serve his patients. Among his favorite destinations were Hawaii and any national park. Most of all, Lou enjoyed time spent with family and friends.

To all that were privileged enough to know Lou, his smile and his infectious laugh are sure to be forever remembered.

Lou leaves behind nine siblings, Debbie Breining of Cadillac, Michigan, Barb Toth of Chesaning, Michigan, Mike Toth of Prescott, Arizona, Cecelia Harges of Prescott, Arizona, Linda Mattus of Tucson, Arizona, Patricia Champagne of Palestine, Texas, Dan Toth of Prescott, Arizona, Pam Tyo of Irvine, Calif., and Tom Toth of Prescott, Arizona. He also is survived by 18 nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and nephews, who like his countless friends, colleagues and patients, will deeply miss his gentle heart and compassionate nature.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3426 Clearwater Drive, on June 6, 2017, at 2 p.m.
