| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Friday, June 2, 2017 <<< Leo Joseph LaFlamme, 86, of Lake Havasu City, passed away peacefully May 26, 2017. He was a loving husband and father and had a heart of gold. Born June 28, 1930 in Detroit, he was the son of Richard LaFlamme and Marion Busque. He enlisted in the Army at age 17, proudly serving July 9, 1947-July 8, 1950. He worked for the City of Warren Fire Department, Michigan 1961-1982. Leo worked his way up through the ranks, retiring as a lieutenant. He met and married Betty on Jan. 27, 1981. In June 1982, they move to Lake Havasu City to open a business together. In August 1982, they bought and opened the Sundowner Bar and Restaurant. They made many friends and had lots of good times. Leo and Betty sold the restaurant and retired April 1, 2007. They enjoyed going on many cruises together and Sunday visits to Laughlin to try their hand at Lady Luck. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty. Leo is survived by his three children, Michelle Portelli, Linda Hamann and Steve LaFlamme; three stepchildren, Barbara (Danny) Stowell, James (Letha) Rajewski, and Louise Gott; nine grandchildren: Tammy and Danny Ouellette, AJ Portelli, Joshua Hamann, Mark and Kevin Ward, Joseph Kowalski, and Ariana and Matthew Rajewski; three great- grandchildren, Frank and Cody Portelli, and McKinzie Ward; brother Albert (Joyce) LaFlamme and sister Rosette (Bill) Massey.
