| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, June 11, 2017, page 10a - 11a Barbara Jo Blake, 68, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 6, 2017. Her hard fought 13-year battle against cancer was a testament to her strength and courage. Barbara was born Aug. 20, 1948, to Walter and Bonnie Harris in Wichita, Kansas. Barbara graduated from Sunnyslope High School in 1966. She married her high school sweetheart, Ted, in 1968. Barbara spent many dedicated years as a nurse and retired in 2000. Barbara is survived by her husband, Ted; brother, Ron (Phyllis) Congdon, of Cave Creek, Arizona; sons, Theodore, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Trevor (Erica) of Bonney Lake, Washington; grandchildren, Joshua, Jenna, Mallory, and Trent. Over the years, Barbara’s many pets were a source of enjoyment, strength, and love as she adopted many of her dogs. Our family would like to thank the care givers from Maggie’s Hospice for their caring and professional help. Private family services are scheduled. In remembrance of Barbara, donations can be made to the Yavapai Humane Society. Hampton Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements. Information provided by survivors. |
