Charles D. Balassa, 73, of Prescott, Arizona passed away May 11, 2017.

He is survived by Chuck, his son, Renee, his daughter-in-law, and Shelby and Gaby, his two granddaughters, his sisters; Carol Reynolds and Joanne Cavett, who still reside in Prescott along with his dog, Kosmo.

Chuck lived in Prescott as a small child and retained his love of the area. When he retired from Citibank as Vice President of Consumer Lending in 2004, Prescott was his home once again.

In retirement, he delivered Meals on Wheels, drove the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Mobile Command Post and participated in Search & Rescue. However, the Prescott Police Department’s Citizens on Patrol (COP) unit became his passion that started in 2009 and continued until his passing.

Chuck was truly appreciative of the support and visits from family, friends and his COP family during his hospital stays and in his last days.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at the Hampton Funeral Home, 240 So. Cortez Street, in Prescott.

The family suggests contributions to Prescott’s Good Samaritan Society - Marley House for those who wish to honor Chuck.

Arrangements entrusted to Hampton Funeral Home.
