Dale Walter Bengston, born February 2, 1930, in Morris, Minn., passed away March 18, 2017, at hospice in Payson.
Dale was formerly from Apple Valley, Minn., Albuquerque, N.M., Glendale and Congress. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Gladys (Sprouls) Bengston; beloved step-mother Myrtle Bengston; and first wife Ardis (Johnson) Bengston.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Julie; brothers Gordon (Dee) Bengston, Dean (Kathy) Bengston; and sister Betty Ann Loehr; five children Brad (Brenda) Bengston, Jackie Cameron, Bruce (Diane) Bengston, Barry (Debbie) Bengston, Judy Blais; three step-children Nick (Darlene) Fylling, Judy (Bob) Morrison and Teresa (Jim) Reichwein; 20-plus grandchildren, 20-plus great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 23, with a prayer service at 1:30 p.m. at the Minneapolis Veterans Home Community Room at the main entrance, 5101 Minnehaha Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55417.
An additional memorial service will be held at a later date at North Ranch in Congress, when an engraved brick with Dale's name will be placed in the park's garden.
In lieu of flowers, make donations in Dale's name to your local Muscular Dystrophy Association, National Parkinson Foundation or hospice.
