Frances Aurora "Dolly" (Deck) Ellenson, 88, of Phoenix, Arizona, left this world peacefully on the evening of December 11, 2015, after a long struggle with Dementia, while in the loving company of her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Don Tellis. Dolly was born in 1927 in Phoenix, Ariz., to Aurora and James Deck and baptized Catholic at St. Mary's Basilica. She grew up in Wickenburg, Ariz., and attended Phoenix Union High School.

Dolly met her husband, Cecil Ellenson in Phoenix and had a Las Vegas wedding in 1963 and moved to the San Luis Obispo area that same year. During their marriage they enjoyed dancing together and spent many evenings at Club Five. Dolly loved life and was fortunate to have traveled the world with Cecil, spending time in England, Switzerland, Ireland and Italy. She also traveled across the country and made several trips to Phoenix to visit her daughter Linda and family.

Cecil and Dolly owned and operated Chevron gas stations in San Luis Obispo area and also owned an apartment building and Alex's, a popular BBQ restaurant. Cecil passed away in 1995. Besides working in the family businesses, Dolly was a dedicated employee at Bank of America for many years. She was actively involved in the community of San Luis Obispo, volunteering at French Hospital and the Women's Shelter and on several committees. She was a loyal Rotary wife, organizing several successful Rotary events down to the last detail. She spent 37 years in the San Luis Obispo area before moving back to Phoenix in 2000 to be close to her daughter Linda. Dolly was a kind and giving person and will always be loved and greatly missed. She will be remembered for her quick wit, which left an impression on many.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Tellis (Don) of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her son, Gary Ellenson, of Elizabethtown, Ky., and her grandchildren, Don Tellis II (Kathy) of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tiffany Dorris (Kevin) of Pine, Ariz. Also left to honor and remember Dolly's love are her great-grandchildren, Hayden, Larissa and Parker Tellis, of Phoenix, Ariz. Dolly adored them and was happy to be close to them in her later years.

A private family memorial service for Dolly will be held in January at St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Parish in Scottsdale, Ariz.
