| Prescott Weekly Courier, Prescott, Arizona Territory Saturday, May 6, 1911, page 8, column 1 The remains of the late Riley Patterson, accidentally electrocuted at the United Verde mine Monday last, were brought to Prescott the following Wednesday and burial was had in K. of P. cemetery. About half the population of Jerome escorted the remains to the train when they were shipped to this city. The pall bearers were, L. M. Coleman, C. E. Hughes, John Opman, John Zivocovich, Chas. P. Jolly and Ed Kovacovich. The interment was had with K. of P. rites, Chancellor Commander L. M. Coleman officiating. Rev. Andrews of Jerome also assisted in conducting the last rites. Deceased came to his death by electrocution while in a drift in the United Verde mine, his wet clothing coming in contact with an electrically charged wire. His death was instantaneous.
