Carol Seaman-Craig, born Oct 2, 1928, in Jerome, Arizona, was the
only child of H. Carroll and Elizabeth Weed. She spent the first
years of her life exposed to the grandeur and open vistas of Central
Arizona and later would comment on the effect this had on the way
she viewed life. The Weed family then moved to Inspiration, where
Carol grew up and attended school (where she met her future husband,
Paul Seaman), graduating from Miami High School in 1946.

She has four children, John Carroll Seaman, George Seaman Weed
(Susan McElheran), Daniel Henry Seaman all of Prescott, Arizona, and
Elizabeth Ann (Rich) Odom of Fairmont, Minnesota.

Carol spent her entire adult life in social and spiritual action
exemplified by outreach in the Hispanic community of San Fernando,
California, during the early 1960s, obtaining a B.A. in sociology
and working as a probation officer in southern California, studying
drug treatment modalities at Synanon in Santa Monica.

She then moved back to Arizona in 1971, becoming active at Sacred
Heart Parish in Prescott for about 20 years and helping to establish
an intentional spiritual community at Lugar de Paz. In 1990 she
moved to Fairmont, Minnesota, with her daughter Elizabeth, where
Carol resumed her volunteer work at St John Vianny Parish.

When her health finally slowed down her outside activities, she kept
herself mentally and spiritually busy, always learning through her
continued interest in religion, politics and social justice. In 1996
she met Jim Craig through mutual interests in politics and after a
long friendship they married in 2001.

Carol moved back home to Arizona two years ago, and passed away on
Aug. 12, 2017.

Carol is survived by her daughter and three sons, nine
grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter
and her brother/friend, Ed Agnew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, an infant
daughter, and her lifelong friend Elizabeth Euler.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers you please make a
contribution to your favorite charity. A Funeral Mass will be at 11
a.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at
150 Fleury St. in Prescott.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary.
