Arnold “Archie” Archer, 70, of Lake Havasu City, died Aug. 16, 2017
at the University Medical Center Burn Unit in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Arnie was born Sept. 6, 1946 in Red Wing, Minnesota to Glenn and
Margaret (nee Hagre). He spent his early years in the Pine Island,
Minnesota area where he bonded with his first dog, Spot. His family
later moved to Minneapolis, where he participated in Golden Glove
boxing. He graduated from Vocational High School and Technical
Institute in 1964.

In 1965, Arnie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. As part
of his enlistment, he served 13 months in Vietnam, celebrating his
20th and 21st birthdays there.

In 1969, he married Sandra Spaulding. They later divorced. He
married Ann (Dilworth) Larsen July 2, 1994. He and Ann retired to
Havasu in September 2007.

He worked in construction until his retirement in 2003, due to
disability. He was a proud member of American Legion Post 81 in
Havasu, especially enjoying the morning coffee klatch. He was a
lifetime member of the VFW and he belonged to the Eagles Aerie 4299.
He loved his country, laughter, playing cards (especially Euchre),
putting jigsaw puzzles together and the joy of conversation with his
many friends.

He is survived by his wife Ann, daughters Jody (Matt) Hagen of St.
Paul, Minnesota and Ramona, Ann’s two daughters Amy and Karen and
five grandchildren; brothers Richard of Kasson, Minnesota; Donald
(Carin) of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Kenneth (Becky) of Brownton,
Minnesota and Robert (Cindy) of Le Center, Minnesota; sisters Elaine
Dickens of Houston, Texas; Clara (Clark) Roach of St. Paul,
Minnesota ; Charlotte Westberg of Marshall, Minnesota and Donna
(Kenneth) Habeck of Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Thomas, infant daughter
Monica, Ann’s daughter Sara, two brothers and three sisters.

Arnie’s memorial service is set for 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 2 at the
American Legion Post 81, 181 Paseo Del Sol.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Arnie’s name to Robert
A. Erkert, American Legion Post 81 in Havasu.

Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory handled arrangements.
