| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 <<< Thomas Leo Zarp, 82, succumbed to a sudden illness and passed away at home in Lake Havasu City surrounded by his loved ones Aug. 25, 2017. Tom was born Oct. 5, 1934 in Omaha, Nebraska to Veta M. Cerney and Edward L. Zarp. Thomas grew up in Monterey Park, California. He was in the Army during the Korean War in the tank battalion. He lived in Bellflower, California for 20 years before spending the last 19 years in Lake Havasu City. Tom married his wife, Susan Joyce Zarp, in Havasu Dec. 31, 2016. He was a much loved member of the Havasu community, working at the London Bridge Resort in security for the past 14 years. He belonged to the Elks, VFW, Moose and ran the London Bridge Resort Men’s Golf League. He was survived by his wife, Susan Joyce Zarp, son Edward Zarp, daughter Deborah O’Dell, grandchildren Amanda Rajabpoor, Dylan O’Dell and Thomas Zarp. He was preceded in death by his parents Veta Marie (Cerney) Zarp and Edward L. Zarp, as well as three brothers and a sister. He will be deeply missed. Tom’s memorial service is set for 2 p.m., Sept. 16 at the London Bridge Convention Center, 1477 Queens Bay in Lake Havasu City. |
