CHAMBERS, John R.

John R. Chambers, 78, of Kearny, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, in Tucson. He was born Aug. 18, 1923, in Holvatia, Pennsylvania and was a graduate of the University of Pittsburg. In 1954 he came to Ray where he was a mining engineer with Kennecott Copper Corporation and the family moved to Kearny in 1963. Survivors include his wife, Rita M. Chambers; mother, Edith Chambers; sons, John (Bob) Chambers, Jr. and his wife, Veronica, and Brian E. Chambers and his wife, Pamela; daughters, Cathy E. Walker and her husband, Steven, and Maryann K. Chambers; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation was held Monday, Oct. 1, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Kearny followed by funeral services with Pastor Joseph Palmer officiating. Interment was at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Mesa. Arrangements were made by Griffith Mortuary. Published 10/04/01.
