Mary Shelley Brown, 91, a resident of Prescott, Ariz., born July 27,
1926, in Friendship, Ind., died Sept. 5, 2017, in Prescott.

A family visit is scheduled for 10 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017,
at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1202-A Green Lane in
Prescott, with a memorial service to begin at the church at 11 a.m.

Arrangements entrusted to Ruffner-Wakelin Funeral Homes.

Mary Shelley Brown passed away peacefully at her home on Sept. 5,
2017. She was born July 27, 1926, in Friendship, Indiana, the
daughter of Frank and Florence (Kinman) Shelley. Mary was 91 years
old.

Mary led a very active life. Early in her married life she worked as
the Food Service Manager for Fisher Body in Cincinnati, Ohio. After
moving to Maryland with her husband and family, she took those same
skills to Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Soon she was recruited
as a dental assistant for the family’s dentist. Mary kept very busy
working outside the home, supporting her husband with his career and
raising their two children.

The pride and joy of Mary’s life were her children, four grandsons
and eight great grandchildren. Her kind spirit, steadfast faith and
selfless generosity lives on through each of them. Above all, Mary
was committed to everyone in both her immediate and extended family
and made certain that each of them knew of her support.

She was a long time member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church
in Prescott where she found strength, comfort, friendship and many
opportunities to serve others.

Mary is survived by her loving and devoted husband, William S. Brown
of 72 years; children, William A. Brown and his wife Susan of El
Cajon, California, Phyllis Boudreaux and her husband, Joseph C., of
Prescott, Arizona; grandchildren, T. Clent Boudreaux, W. Taylor
Boudreaux, Christopher P. Brown, Kevin K. Brown; and great
grandchildren, Alexa, Ethan, Andreas, Joseph, Ava, Anderson, Liam,
and Sila.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and also her siblings,
Joseph, Marvin, Harvey, Courtney, Louise, and Margaret.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Mary’s
name to: Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 1202 Green Lane,
Prescott, AZ 86305.

A family visitation will take place at Shepherd of the Hills
Lutheran Church, 1202 Green Lane in Prescott, starting at 10 a.m.
Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, followed by a celebration of Mary’s life
starting at 11 a.m.

The Ruffner Wakelin Prescott Chapel was entrusted with the
arrangements for Mary Brown.
