| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, September 17, 2017, page 6a/7a John Jeffrey Ahrens, 82, of Dewey, Arizona, died at Yavapai Regional Medical Center on Sept. 11, 2017. He was born in New Rochelle, New York. Jeff graduated from University of Detroit High School. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated from the University of Michigan. He had a life-long career with General Motors. Jeff and Mary Ellen were married for 56 years and raised their five children in Wisconsin and California. He is survived by his wife; and children, Andy Ahrens (Wendy) of Brookfield, Wisconsin, Anne Komanecky (Brad) of Rochester, New York, Charlie Ahrens (Tamara) of Elm Grove, Wisconsin, Molly Morris (Jeff) of Greer, South Carolina, and Jenny McKay (Dane) of Palos Verdes Estates, California; grandchildren, Nathan Morris, Katie Ahrens, Max Morris, Alexandra Ahrens, Audrey Ahrens, Ella Ahrens, Logan McKay, Stella McKay and Gavin McKay. He is also survived by two sisters, Sister Luise Ahrens MM and Jane Ahrens. He was predeceased by sister, Gay Byrnes; and brother, Peter Ahrens. Jeff also had many nieces and nephews. Jeff and Mary Ellen retired to Prescott Country Club in Dewey, Arizona, where Jeff thoroughly enjoyed golf with so many. He was a member of Scared Heart Church.
