| Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Wednesday, October 4, 2017, p. A-5 Beloved father and grandfather James R. Gibson passed away on Aug. 25, 2017, in Woodburn, Ore. He was born on Oct. 9, 1935, to Lenardo and Montana Gibson in Park County, Mont. He attended schools in Park County, graduating from PCHS in 1953. Jim served in the Montana State Guard and in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959. He married Joyce Swainson in June of 1961. Jim was employed as chief pilot for True Oil in Casper, Wyo., for more than 25 years and retired to Wickenburg. After his flying days were over, he enjoyed travelling, fishing and making friends everywhere he went. He especially loved spending time with his family and many friends. His contagious smile, laughter and loyalty will be missed. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce, and his brother Lt. Col. Robert Gibson. He is survived by his daughter Traci; two grandsons, James and Corey DeKruyf; and his sister Dorothy Helgeson, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Livingston, Mont. on Oct. 21 at 10:30 a.m. There will be a celebration of life immediately following the service at the Elks Lodge.
