Elizabeth Thompson (aka Betty or Liz) was born on April 4, 1936, in
Rockford, Illinois, the 8th child of Clarence and Mildred Halsne and
passed away on Oct. 11, 2017. She grew up in Davis Junction,
Illinois, and graduated from high school at Stillman Valley High in
Stillman Valley, Illinois.

After high school, Betty became an airline stewardess with Western
Airlines. After leaving Western Airlines she married and had three
children with Richard Thompson. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Betty was strong, determined and devoted to raising her three
children on her own. She went to work for EECO Corporation selling
in-flight entertainment systems to airlines throughout the world. In
2001 she was diagnosed with cancer and retired in 2002. Cancer free
in 2004, she moved to Lake Havasu in 2005. She loved golf, sewing,
collecting spoons from around the world, and of course, her beloved
dog Buddy. After being declared cancer free, she spent a great deal
of time dealing with the side effects of the cancer cure treatment.
But, she kept moving forward and made a comfortable life for herself
in Lake Havasu.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Susan Dee and Elizabeth Ann
Thompson, her son, Richard (Lori) Thompson and her grandchildren,
Steven and Justin Thompson, Lindsay (Austin) Catron, and Garrett,
Kaylean, Westin and Casandra Thompson, her brothers Clarence Halsne,
Jr. (Sandy), H. Glenn Halsne (Leona), James Halsne (Patti), sister
Nancy Dominguez and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard Halsne and
sisters Ellen Lucille Halsne, Roberta Cox, Patricia Jones, Marjorie
Marsters and Dorothy Fuller.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Betty’s Life to
be held on Oct. 28, 2017 from 1 to 5 pm at the home of Nancy
Dominguez, 3901 Lunar Drive, Lake Havasu City. Condolences may be
sent to the family at this address. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to Hospice of Havasu.
