John Hiram (Jack) Davis

John Hiram “Jack” Davis died Sept. 29, 2017, at the age of 90, at
Brookdale-Plaza Del Rio Care Center in Peoria, Arizona.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Warren Johnson Davis; his son,
Robert Davis (Sharon) of Chino Valley, Arizona; stepdaughter Cherry
Buffington; stepson, David Johnson (Cathy); eight grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Johnson Davis; and his
daughter, Carol Kuskie.

Born in Elmira, New York, on Jan. 10, 1927, the son of Earl and Emma
Davis, John moved to Arizona when he was 16. He served in WWII, in
the 82nd Airborne. After the war, he went to work as a mechanic at
the Paul J. Johnson Garage for his father-in-law. John eventually
owned and operated the family business until he retired in 1994.
Services for John will be held at the American Lutheran Church of
Sun City, 17200 N. Del Web Blvd., on Oct. 14, 2017, at 11 a.m.
