Fatal Gunshot Self-Inflicted

A 20-year-old Phoenix man apparently used a 22-caliber revolver to take his own life yesterday, police said.

The body of Gregory Fred Lucas was found inside a car parked in front of his apartment at 9107 N. 12th St.

Detective Leroy Benson said a revolver and a note indicating despondency were found near the body.

Lucas, a Phoenix Union High School vocation student, was scheduled to appear Monday before Justice of the Peace Charles F. Coppock in a preliminary hearing on a charge of illegal possession of marijuana.
