Gerald Edward “Jerry” Browne, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Oct.
20, 2017 in Ely, Nevada.
Jerry was born on Dec 31, 1932, graduated in Rupert, Idaho and was a
long haul truck driver for 40 years. After retirement, the Brownes
enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling the US, visiting most of the
major national parks. They settled in the Lake Havasu City area for
their winters and spent summers in Boise, Idaho.
Jerry especially enjoyed the battlefield, monuments and history of
their Civil War. They made a pilgrimage to Graceland, stood on the
four corners, looked out on the Grand Canyon and descended into the
Carlsbad Caverns of New Mexico. Even in retirement, it seems Jerry
couldn’t stay off the road.
In his later years, Jerry took up woodworking, making many fine
gifts for friends and family. He loved attending the Boise Hawks
games and visiting friends and family. He was an active member of
the Eagles, Elks and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley, and children Miles,
Bud, Sheryl, Amber, David, Stephanie, and Troy, 15 grandchildren, 22
great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
A celebration of life is Nov. 25 at the Eagles Aerie at 11 a.m.
Meats, cheese, and rolls will be furnished. Potluck salads or
desserts are appreciated.
