Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Sunday, November 19, 2017 <<< Joseph “Joe Mama” Boscola, 64, died Nov. 5, 2017 at his home in Lake Havasu City. Joe passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord. After serving in the United States Air Force as a security specialist, he moved to Havasu to embark on a 28-year career as a firefighter and paramedic. He not only loved serving his community as a firefighter, but he was also very dedicated to his service at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Joe especially enjoyed Sundays where he would greet parishioners before mass. He also was well known for spending time with his many friends around town having a beer and dinner at his local hot spots. Joe knew no strangers. He was kind and compassionate. He always took the time to care for his family, friends and community. Joe also loved animals, watching and playing sports, living a healthy lifestyle and keeping up on current politics. It was no secret he loved Fox News. Joe was best known for the love that he had for his daughter, Amanda. He always looked forward to spending summers with his daughter in Dallas and family in Virginia Beach. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Dolores Boscola. Joe is survived by his loving daughter Amanda, two sisters, four nieces, and nine great-nieces and nephews who deeply loved him and will miss him. Joe was bigger than life and will be sadly missed by all. The mass to celebrate Joe’s life is Dec. 2. Rosary is at 9:30 a.m., followed by military honors and mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church.
