| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, July 4, 2001, page 5a Naomi 'Rusty' Byrd Naomi 'Rusty' Byrd, 72, of Prescott, died Sunday, July 1, 2001, at the Mountain View Care Center in Prescott. She was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Hannibal, Mo., to Clarence and Elvara (Engle) Berry. Mrs. Byrd was raised in Prescott after her family returned to the state where both of her parents were born. She traveled extensively and lived in California, Alaska and England before returning to Prescott in 1985 to care for her mother and handicapped brother. She worked at the Pine Cone Inn. She enjoyed meeting neighbors and friends there and also at the Cattlemen's Bar and Grill. Surviving are her daughters, Roni of Washington; and sons, Jim Sandri of Washington and John Sandri of Wisconsin. A Christian burial service and celebration of Mrs. Byrd's life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, Cortez and Carleton streets, Prescott. The Rev. Fred LeClaire, C.M.F., of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Concluding services will be Friday at the family plot at Holy Hope Cemetery in Tucson. |
