Marian Martha Mensing, born Oct. 10, 1911, in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of William J. and Estelle (Dilg) Schmidt.
She was born, raised and lived on the family farm until she moved to Phoenix in 1962 when her husband, Theodore's health failed. After a lengthy decline of health, she went to her glory to be with her husband, Teddy, on March 18, 2007, while staying at Peaceful Valley Care home in Prescott. She moved to Prescott to be with her son and daughter-in-law in October 2005 when her health would not let her live by herself.
Marian is survived by two sons, John W. Vinnedge of Hamilton, Ohio and Peter L. (Karen) Mensing of Prescott, Arizona; seven grandchildren; and many great- grandchildren of Ohio and Arizona.
Her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Vinnedge, preceded her in death.
She was a wonderful mother and homemaker, but above all, a practicing Christian, always helping to bring others to Christ. She was very active in Zion Lutheran Church in Hamilton and St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Phoenix.
We are grateful for all the loving care she received from her church in Phoenix, the church family in Chino Valley, with Pastor Mike and Pastor Barb and Hospice, both Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix and YRMC Hospice in Prescott Valley.
A memorial service will be at the Chino Valley United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 24 at 1 p.m. A lunch will follow.
In lieu of flowers, please remember YRMC Hospice, 3262 N. Windsong Drive, Prescott Valley, Arizona, 86314, St. Andrew Lutheran, 3101 W. Cholla, Phoenix, Ariz., 85029, or Chino Valley United Methodist Church, 735 E. Road 1 South, Chino Valley, Arizona, 86323.
