Robert Henry Rietkerk

Robert Henry Rietkerk, 83, a retired telecommunications/PBX
technician, avid boater and Harley Davidson enthusiast passed away
on Nov. 6, 2017 in Lake Havasu.

Bob spent his childhood in Pacific Grove, California and then moved
to Chino with his family for his senior year. He graduated from
Chino High School in 1951.

Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving from 1951 to 1961.
After boot camp, Bob was assigned to the USS Tortuga. Once his
enlistment ended, he found employment with GTE, and later with
Continental Telephone (Contel) until his retirement.

Bob enjoyed the first part of retirement living at Haven Acres
(Lathrop, California), boating and relaxing by the edge of the
river. Bob continued his retirement by moving to Havasu 15 years
ago. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, being on the water and
dancing the night away with friends. Most notably, Bob was able to
attend the 100th anniversary of Harley Davidson Sturgis Rally, the
Indianapolis 500 and several NASCAR races.

Bob is survived by his son, David Rietkerk, 40, grandchildren Jeremy
Rietkerk, 33, Brandy Wymer, 29, Dylan Rietkerk, 18, Ileanna, 10,
Izaac, 8, Benjamin, 6, great-grandchildren Jayden, 9, William, 6,
Sabastian, 4 and his sister, Viola “Toots” Nielsen. He was
predeceased by his daughter, Tammy Miller.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, at the
Lake Havasu Yacht Club, 631 London Bridge Road, Lake Havasu City, AZ
86403. Flowers and condolences can be sent to the same address.
