ELOY - Porfiria J. Vasquez, 82, of Eloy died May 13, 2009 at home. Visitation Friday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass celebrated there Saturday by the Rev. Bardo Antunez. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park. Mrs. Vasquez was born Sept. 15, 1926 in Del Valle, Texas. She was a homemaker, a lifelong resident of Eloy and a member of St. Helen Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Pascual M.; four daughters, Julie Cruz and Olivia Maldonado of Eloy, Mary Young of Casa Grande and Rosalie Vasquez of Phoenix; a son, Hector Vasquez of Eloy; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
