Charles Edward Kellum, 57, of Casa Grande died May 8, 2009 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
A celebration of life will be held privately by the family.
Mr. Kellum was born July 21, 1951 in Phoenix and graduated from Agua Fria High School, where he played football. He worked for Motorola and in construction. In 1996 he became a registered nurse and worked at CGRMC for several years. He owned and operated Creative Recycling until 2007.
He loved his family and was fiercely loyal and very giving. He loved being in his back yard, a place he called his "own piece of heaven." He traveled frequently to Alabama and loved being on the road.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Valerie A. (George) Kellum; two sons, Derrick Kellum of Casa Grande and Renn Kellum of Scottsdale; a daughter, Marci Kellum of Casa Grande; four sisters, Arlie Wardlow, Wanda Mosier and Barbara Henson, all of Alabama, and Joann Frye of Nebraska; two brothers, Walter Stone of Alabama and James Stone of Arkansas; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Bell and Edward Stone, and a sister, Carolyn Williamson.
Simes Mortuaries Casa Grande Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
