Doris Euna (Norwood) O’Neal affectionately known by her loved ones
as “Nana” passed away peacefully the evening of Nov. 21, 2017, in
Prescott Valley, Ariz.

Doris was born on October 4, 1925 in Mulhall, Okla., the second of
seven children of Virgil A. and Euna E. (Bryan) Norwood. She was
raised in Arkansas, graduated from Malvern High School, and was
employed by ACME Brick Company where she met her beloved husband
Bill. They were married on August 30, 1947, and were together for 69
years before Bill passed away earlier this year.

When her two children were young, Doris and Bill moved to
Sacramento, Calif. There Doris worked at Sears for 27 years and
retired as a Telecommunication Supervisor in 1988. In earlier years,
Doris was active in her church and really enjoyed the Women’s Bible
Study; she was also a member of Eastern Star. After retiring, Doris
and Bill moved back to Arkansas where she served her community as a
volunteer at the local hospital and for a time as a substitute
school teacher. They moved closer to her daughter and son-in law in
New Hampshire and eventually moved with them to Arizona. She
particularly enjoyed baking, gardening, shopping and spoiling her
grandkids, always with a smile and a sweet southern drawl.

In her last few months, Doris was at the most wonderful care home we
could ever ask for, Northstar in Prescott Valley.

Doris is survived by two children: William “Butch” Henry O’Neal Jr.,
Susan “Kay” (Ron) Todd; five grandchildren: Jen O’Neal, Travis
(Jennifer) Todd, Amanda, Matthew (Brenda) Todd, Ashley (Daniel)
Michaelis; her brothers Dr. Clint (Annette) Norwood, Wendell
(Germaine) Norwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is reunited with our Lord in Heaven, her husband Bill, one
brother Virgil A., and three sisters: Nancy Sherwin, Helen Jarchow
and Mary Hall.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the Celebration of Life
gathering to be held at the home of Kay & Ron Todd on Monday,
December 4, 2017, at 11 a.m. A private inurnment for family will be
held at the Prescott National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Alzheimer’s
Foundation of America (alzfdn.org) in honor of Doris E. O’Neal.

Affordable Burial & Cremation is handling arrangements.
