| The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, November 5, 1996, page 5a Elsie Holmes Elsie Holmes, 71, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 1996, at the Arizona Pioneer Home. She was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Wickenburg, to Charles E. and Jeanette I. (Fernandez) Branham. Mrs. Holmes and her family moved to Prescott when she was 5 months old. She attended Lincoln Elementary School and Prescott Hight School. She worked for the Warfield Nursing Home in the laundry. She liked keeping her kids busy and loved a new pair of shoes. She enjoyed crocheting. She helped at the Center for Adult Day Care and the Yavapai Center for the Blind doing crafts. Survivors include: her sons, Ernest Branham of Flagstaff and Joseph Holmes of Phoenix; daughters, Elsie Davis and Sheila Peterson, both of Prescott, Gloria Brown of Phoenix and Anna Kopel of Brownsburg, Ind; sister, Lorraine Crawford of Yuma; 19 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Arizona Pioneers' Home on Sunday, Nov. 3. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. |
