J. W. (sic G. W.) Brooks, who has been engaged in keeping a station at 
Mescal gulch, was brought into town yesterday for medical attention and 
died during the day.

Deceased was 43 years old, and leaves a wife and child, the latter 
being only a few days old.

Transcriber's note: Mr. Brooks is buried in an unmarked grave at the 
Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
