BROWN, John W.

Arizona Weekly Journal-Miner, Prescott, Arizona Territory Wednesday, August 16, 1899, page 4, column 2 John W. Brown, an old resident of the Agua Fria valley, died near Sanders station on Tuesday afternoon and was buried in the Citizens' cemetery of Prescott at 6 o'clock last evening. Mr. Brown had been ill for some time and his son, Jack Brown, a business man of Jerome, came over to the Agua Fria on Monday to take him to his home at Jerome. While in route the elder Brown complained of not feeling well and requested his son stop the buggy which he did, death occurring soon afterwards. Mr. Brown had been suffering from dropsy and it reached the heart, causing death as stated above, very suddenly. He was a native of Scotland and the only relative in this country is his son. He was a good citizen and was 63 years old. His funeral was attended by a large number of citizens of the Agua Fria valley as-well as many other friends of himself and son. Transcriber's note: Mr. Brown is buried in an unmarked grave at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
