| Parker Pioneer, Parker, Arizona >>> Published on Thursday, November 9, 2017 <<< Josephine "Pini" Leivas Torres, 83, entered into her heavenly home on November 2, 2017. Josephine was born to the late Perfecto Leivas Jr. and Victoria Romo, in Parker, Arizona, on March 24, 1934. She was a patriarch of her family, Church and served on many committees and axillary boards. Josephine was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her best friend, Cornelio G. Torres, on December 7, 1952, in Parker, Arizona. Cornelio helped raise their five children, Rachel, Veronica, Elva, Monica and Nathan, with patience, discipline and an abundance of love. Josephine was nurturing and caring at heart. She not only mothered her own five children, but was a caregiver and foster parent to 21 children within her community. Josephine is survived by her husband, Cornelio Torres; her son Nathan Torres; her daughters Elva Flores and Monica Torres; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Perfecto Leivas Jr. and Victoria Romo; her daughters Veronica Adame and Rachel Garcia. Celebration services for Josephine will be Friday, November 10, 2017, at 9 a.m. at the Parker Apostolic Church. The burial will immediately follow services. Services were entrusted under the care of Parker Funeral Home. |
