Smith served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. He was with the California Highway Patrol from 1968 to 1984, when he retired to the Colorado River. He was Judge of the Parker Justice Court from 1987 to 1994. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Parker Elks Lodge, BPOE 1929; and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10762. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julia and Frank Smith; his sister, Betty, and his brother, David. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy; his sons Donald (Maureen) and Richard; two grandsons and one great-grandson. There will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family asks individuals to make donations in his name to their favorite charities. “A Life Well Lived.” |
