| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 <<< Victor Johan Marinussen, age 94, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Fort Mohave went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by his loved ones Dec. 3, 2017. Victor was born on Aug. 11, 1923 in Surabaya, Indonesia to Johan and Irah Marinussen. He joined the Royal Dutch Navy at age 18 and fought in World War II. Victor married the love of his life, Edith Tismeer, on Feb. 24, 1948 and fathered eight children -- four sons and four daughters. Victor was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. His family was his pride and he spoke often of the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren he so adored. He loved attending the First Baptist Church of Fort Mohave and enjoyed the many friends he made. His loss leaves a huge void as we lost the pillar of our family. The many memories we made will be cherished in our hearts forever. Victor was preceded in death by his daughter Peggy Wilson and grandson Joey Heredero. He is survived by his loving wife, Edith (Tismeer) Marinussen of Fort Mohave, four sons, three daughters, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. A celebration of Victor’s life is 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, at Redemption Hill Calvary Chapel, 1881 West Acoma Blvd. in Lake Havasu City with military honors to follow at Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens.
