Wickenburg Sun (Wickenburg, Arizona) Friday, January 31, 1936, p. 1 Mesa Couple Claim Dead Youth As Son The unidentified youth who was killed in an auto accident near Aguila January 13, and whose body was held at the Wickenburg Funeral Home for two weeks was claimed last Saturday by Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Carter of Mesa, who returned the remains to that city for burial. The Carters made five trips to Wickenburg before making final decision that the dead boy was their son, who is alleged to have been on the road for several years, but who was said to have visited the parents on the night of January 9. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Arizona Republic (Phoenix, AZ) Sunday, January 26, 1936, page 2, section 4 Services To Be Held Funeral services for Elton Carter, killed in an automobile accident near Wickenburg, January 13, will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the Gibbons chapel. The Rev. Fred Pulliam of the First Baptist church will officiate. Interment will be in Mesa cemetery.
