BURNS, Patrick (Paddy)

Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, January 30, 1930, page 7, column 6 Old Timers Attend Funeral Of Friend The passing of 'Paddy' Burns, who was well known in Yavapai county as a prospector and miner, brought to his funeral a number of 'old- timers,' who came to pay him their respects. 'Paddy' Burns worked hard a whatever he undertook, prospecting, mining or ranching. His faithful dog was his devoted companion. His demise occurred at the county hospital where he had been for about a week previous. Among the old-timers who attended his funeral were George C. and Mollie Ruffner, James Coyne, H. E. McPherson, Charles Phillips, R. E. (Doe) Lee, Jack Bain, Dick Brooks, Ernest Royk, Mr. Miller, Tony Marchello, Thomas Poe, Fred Daniels and Hiram Sutliff. Rev. Godfrew Matthes read the burial service speaking of the value of friendship and that success was not to be measured so much by accomplishments but by efforts. Transcriber's note: Mr. Burns is buried in an unmarked grave at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
