| Breeze Courier (Taylorville, Illinois) Thursday, November 2, 2017 Douglas Allen Shetlar, 61, of Apache Junction, Arizona went to be with his Lord at 5 a.m. today, November 2, 2017 after a long battle with lung disease. He was born May 24, 1956 in Taylorville, the son of Jerry and Jeanne (McMillan) Shetlar. He graduated from Taylorville High School with the class of 1974. Doug worked on several movies in the Arizona area and one of his favorite was working with Sam Elliott. He had a small part in Tombstone. He was also a carpenter and loved to ride his motorcycle. He is survived by his mother, Jeanne Shetlar and brother Tim Shetlar of Apache Junction, two daughters: Cassie and Amy and six grandchildren of Arizona. Also surviving are his uncle and aunt, Richard and Kathy Law of Taylorville, and aunt Nancy Chandler of Utah. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Jess and Bernice McMillan and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Shetlar. No services will be held and cremation rites were accorded. See Also: Find A Grave |
