Miss Marcella Brinkmeyer Dies In Local Hospital Sat.

Miss Marcella E. Brinkmeyer, daughter of a pioneer Prescott family,
died Saturday morning at the Prescott Community Hospital.

Born July 3, 1897, in Prescott, she was the daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Brinkmeyer, owners of the Brinkmeyer Hotel, Bakery
and Restaurant, located in the 100 block of North Montezuma.

After attending Prescott schools Miss Brinkmeyer attended the
University of California at Berkley, Calif., where she graduated
with honors in 1918. Upon graduation from the university she
enlisted in the Cadet Nurses Corp. but the armistice was signed
before she was called to duty. She then returned to the University
of California for one year to earn her teachers certificate.

Miss Brinkmeyer taught elementary school in Clarkdale, and severed
as a substitute high school teacher in that town until she move to
Phoenix, where she taught at the Creighton School. After one year
in Phoenix she then moved to Prescott where she taught at the Junior
High School, she then moved to Prescott Senior High School and there
until she retired in 1938.

Miss Brinkmeyer was a member of Golden Rule Chapter No. I, Order of
Eastern Star, and Della Zeta social society.

She is survived by a sister, Miss Caroline Brinkmeyer of Prescott; a
sister-in-law, Mrs. Louise Brinkmeyer of Prescott; and two cousins,
Herman Brinkmeyer of Los Vegas, Nev., and Paul A. Plummer of
Phoenix.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Ruffner Funeral
Home. Rev. Joseph McShane of the Methodist Church and members of
Golden Rule Chapter No. 1, OES, will officiate. Private entombment
will follow at the Mountain View Mausoleum.

The family prefers that memorials be sent to the Special Gifts
Committee, Yavapai Community Hospital, P.O. Box 61, Prescott.
