| Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, December 30, 1953, page 1, column 6 Death Claims Mrs. Bashaw Mrs Amanda Jane Bashaw, 53, a resident of this community for 26 years, died early this morning at a local hospital after being in ill health for several months. She and her husband, Howard Bashaw who is employed at Whipple Veterans Administration Center, had resided at 199 Navajo Dr. Mrs. Bashaw, born July 27, 1900, in Kentucky is survived by a large family. Besides her husband, there are three sons, Donald C., Salinas, Calif., Joseph L., a member of the forest service stationed in Prescott, and Howard M., Jr., of Los Angeles; one daughter, Mrs. Helen H. McGirl of Denver, Colo.; three brothers residing in Kentucky, and seven grandchildren. Services have been set for Saturday at 2 p.m., from the Ruffner Funeral Home Chapel and with the Rev. Glenn LaVelle of the First Church of God officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Ruffner Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 o'clock.
