Shirley Lee Smith-Simms, was born in Prescott on May 25, 1935, and
went to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 9, 2017. She was born
and raised in the Prescott area, spending most of her time in her
hometown of Prescott. She also lived in Bumble Bee, Mayer, Hillside
and Kirkland, but spent the last 35 years at her home in Prescott.
She attended Miller Valley School, Prescott Junior High and Prescott
High School, graduating in 1953.

Shirley was the daughter of Clint William and Ada Pauline (Gibson)
Smith, who were also born and raised in the Prescott area, as were
her grandparents and great-grandparents.

Shirley raised all three of her children in Prescott and two still
live here. She was a TRUE Prescott native and was very proud of this
honor. Shirley dedicated her life to her children, husband and the
Lord, and she will be greatly missed by many friends and family. She
enjoyed a good cup of tea, visiting with her many friends, reading
the Bible, and crocheting. Many will be without her beautiful dish
cloths that she hand made and sold. She made a lot of crocheted
quilts that her family and friends will continue to enjoy and think
of her when they use them. It is a great sadness to us all, but she
is with her father, mother and brother Lonnie Smith now, safe in
their arms.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Jim Simms; her children, Joni
Lou Kirchner (Tom), Cortland James Potter (Cristy) and Liz Ann
Listol (Randy); grandchildren, Matthew Paul Reece, Michelle Renee
Clifton, Amanda Lynn Livesay, Casey James Potter, Austin Bo Potter,
Joshua Robert Robb, Heather Nicole Fiedler, Sierra Ann Robb and
Zachary Charles Listol; and seven great-grandchildren, Nathanael,
Mallie, Madison, Jocelynn, Sean, Chase and Easton.

A memorial will be held at the Heights Church in Prescott at 2 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, with burial of her ashes at a later date.
