Peggy (Ensminger) Campbell

Peggy Ensminger Campbell, a native Arizonan born in Prescott on Nov.
7, 1922, passed away in Tucson on Oct. 7, 2017.

Peg attended Washington Elementary School in Prescott, as well as
St. Joseph’s Academy, from which she graduated in 1940. After
graduation, Peg attended Mount St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles,
but returned to Phoenix in 1941 when WWII was declared. While
working at the Western Union office, Peg met the love of her life,
Du Campbell, who was stationed at Luke Field. They married several
months after meeting and remained married until Du’s death in 2013.
Peg and Du lived in Tucson after the war and Du received his
Pharmacy degree at the University of Arizona. They then returned to
Phoenix, where they raised their four children.

In 1976, Peg and Du moved back to Prescott. Du was the pharmacist at
the Arizona Pioneers’ Home and Peg worked in the Prescott High
School library. After retirement, they enjoyed traveling and
visiting their children and grandchildren in Phoenix and Tucson.

Peg will be greatly missed by her four children, Connie Campbell,
Steve Campbell, Lindsey Campbell Alpert (Gary), Suzanne Campbell; as
well as her sister, Suzanne Ensminger C.S.J. She is also survived by
grandchildren, Meg, Amy and Alec Chin, Flor and Orquidea Campbell,
Sam (Vanessa) and Mackay Alpert, and Cooper and Cameron Nolan; as
well as two great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
