Ralph Paul Oliva, 79, of York, South Carolina, formerly of Prescott,
Arizona, passed away peacefully on Dec. 8, 2017, surrounded by his
loving family and devoted wife, Marilyn Howe Oliva.
Ralph was born on March 7, 1938, to the late Luciano and Dirce
Oliva. Ralph spent his young adult years serving in the Navy and
went on to own his own security company and subsequently a very
successful career as a salesman for Coca Cola and Gallo Wines.
Ralph will always be remembered for his infectious, sweet smile, his
knowledge of the wine industry, and his love for the Mixed Martial
Arts. But most importantly his fierce love for his wife, children
and step-children, including other family and friends.
Ralph is survived by his wife and love of his life, Marilyn Howe-
Oliva; daughters, Christina Oliva of Denver, Colorado, and Theresa
Mann of Lehighton, Pennsylvania; son, Mike Oliva and wife Teresita;
grandchildren, Katie and Mike Oliva; step-children, TD Howe IV and
wife, Sylvia, of York, South Carolina; grandchildren, Bryan and
Jessica Pender, TD Howe V, Phyllis Chaney and husband, Mark, and
Christopher, Rebecca and Cory Chaney of Brookshire, Texas; sister,
Velma Wood of Tucson, Arizona; as well as nieces and nephews.
Ralph was an avid Dodger and MMA fan, staying up later than everyone
else to keep up with statistics on winners and losers. Ralph will be
dearly missed by all those who had the honor of knowing him.
Services have been provided by the Neptune Society, and Ralph will
be interred to his final resting place at Forest Park Lawndale in
Houston, Texas, in a private family service.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to TD and
Sylvia Howe of York, South Carolina, for their relentless service
and compassion to Ralph over the last three years. Also to Visiting
Angels who lovingly cared for Ralph during the past year.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer
Society.
