Pioneer Drops Dead At Work
J. A. Carlton, a pioneer carpenter of this city, dropped dead
yesterday about 4:15 o'clock while he was engaged in some work at
the Flinn sanitarium in West Prescott. Death was due to natural
causes.
Mr. Carlton had not been feeling well for several days and shortly
before he expired he said that he thought he would go to see a
doctor. On several occasions he also spoke of having a pain in his
heart. When death struck him, he had a nail partly driven into a
board.
The deceased who was 64 years old, he has lived in Prescott for many
years. He was single an so far as could be learned this afternoon
he had no relatives.
He was recently returned from Agua Coliente Hot Springs, where he
did some contract work.
Arrangements for the funeral have not been made, but will be
announced later.
Transcriber's note: Mr. Carleton is buried in an unmarked grave at
the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
