| Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, August 1, 1927, page 8, column 2 Boy Scouts Attend Funeral of Friend Members of scout troop 12, of which he was one, attended the funeral yesterday for Alfred Carranza, marching to the Citizens cemetery, where interment took place, and placing a wreath on their dead comrade's grave. Carranza, the 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Carranza, died as a result of injuries received last Monday, when he dived into shallow water while out swimming and struck his head. Concussion of the brain developed a day or so following and he succumbed Wednesday night. He was a graduate of the Washington school in this year's class and would have entered High school in the fall. Transcriber's note: Alfred is buried at the Citizens Cemetery in Prescott, Arizona.
