Boy Scouts Attend Funeral of Friend

Members of scout troop 12, of which he was one, attended the funeral
yesterday for Alfred Carranza, marching to the Citizens cemetery,
where interment took place, and placing a wreath on their dead
comrade's grave.

Carranza, the 15-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Carranza, died
as a result of injuries received last Monday, when he dived into
shallow water while out swimming and struck his head. Concussion of
the brain developed a day or so following and he succumbed Wednesday
night.

He was a graduate of the Washington school in this year's class and
would have entered High school in the fall.

Transcriber's note: Alfred is buried at the Citizens Cemetery in
Prescott, Arizona.
