| Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, December 1, 1966, page 1, column 5 Mahurin Rites To Be Friday Florence A Mahurin, member of a pioneer family, died Tuesday, November 29, in the Arizona Pioneers' Home, where she had been a guest for the past 10 years. Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Charles Franklin Parker will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call at Hampton's from 6 to 9 this evening. Mrs. Mahurin was born Nov. 12, 1878, in Skull Valley. Her parents, William and Julia Murphy, came to Arizona from Arkansas. The first settled in Ferguson Valley, but later moved to Skull Valley, where Mr. Murphy went to work for a freighting firm. Mrs. Mahurin is survived by three daughters, Mrs. V. Hards, of Gunnison, Colo., Mrs. V. S. Holly, of Glendale, and Mrs. Martin Fischer, of Prescott; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
