Edgar Howard Burcham

Edgar Howard (Burch) Burcham, 89, of Lake Havasu City, passed away on
Dec. 27.

He was born May 10, 1928 in South Gate, California, the son of Earl
and Eva Mae Burcham.

After graduating South Gate High School, in South Gate, California in
1947, Edgar proudly served our country after enlisting in the United
State Navy. He met a lovely lady, Betty Marie. They married May 17,
1949 in Huntington Park, California.

After being honorably discharged, Edgar continued his life of service
by becoming an engineer for the Los Angeles County Fire Department and
City of South Gate for approximately 40 years. He retired to Havasu in
1989 from California.

Edgar enjoyed many things in life. He loved camping out, golfing,
boating, water skiing and cross-country motorcycle riding. But most of
all, Edgar enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, whom he
dearly loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, who passed on March
28, 2008, Betty Marie Burcham; parents Eva Mae and William Burcham;
stepfather William Heffner; twin brother Edwin Lenuit Burcham; sister
Evelyn Maureen “Renee” Villa.

Edgar is survived by his sons, John Howard Burcham, of Honolulu,
Hawaii and Dan Howard Burcham, of San Francisco; two grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.

Edgar’s service is 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, at Lietz-Fraze Funeral
Home with a reception to follow.
