| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Thursday, January 4, 2018 <<< It is with deep sadness that the family of Bettie Garcia announces her passing on Dec. 26, 2017 at age 88. She will be forever remembered by her husband of 69 years, Dan Garcia, her daughters, Dana and Kelli, her grandsons, Danny and Connor, and her granddaughters, Cameron, Janessa, and Jessica and her brother, Troy. Bettie moved from Murray, Kentucky to California when she was seven years old. She went to several different schools. Instead of regretting all those moves, she felt blessed to have been able to make so many friends. Everyone that knew her loved her. She moved to Whittier in the 1970s. In 2001, she moved to Lake Havasu City. Bettie loved her family more than anything and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. She also enjoyed gambling and loved the slots in Laughlin. She was the original one-armed bandit. A celebration of Bettie’s life is 1 p.m. Jan. 6 at Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory,2225 N. Kiowa Blvd. Her burial will be at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California on January 26th 2018 at 2:15 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
