Mary Ann Scrimgeour, age 84, passed on Monday, January 1, 2018, at
her home in Prescott, Arizona, after a long, hard-fought battle
against metastatic breast cancer. She was born in Silver Springs,
Maryland, moved to Yuma, Arizona, in 1965 with her husband, Walter,
and children. Then in 1988, Mary Ann and Walter moved to Prescott,
Ariz.

Mary Ann was a big game hunter in her earlier years. She enjoyed
traveling to Alaska, Canada and New Zealand for her adventures. She
was a skilled marksperson throughout her entire life. In her later
years, Mary Ann turned to running races for fun and health. She
completed numerous races in the Southwest, receiving medals for most
that she entered. Her last race was at the age of 80 with a first
place finish. Mary Ann loved being at their cabin, feeding the
birds, taking care of the property, painting and, of course, weed
whacking.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 64 years, Walter Scrimgeour
of Prescott, Ariz.; son, Mark Scrimgeour (Kathy Fox) of Yuma, Ariz.;
daughter, Sandy Scrimgeour (Jim Alred) of Prescott; and sister and
brothers in Maryland.

Mary Ann’s son, Tom Scrimgeour, of Yuma, preceded her in passing.

No services are planned at this time.

Mary Ann was truly a beautiful, loving and generous soul. She
remained strong, funny and a positive light for her family and
friends until her last day on this earth. “If there ever comes a day
when we cannot be together, keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there
forever.” ~Winnie the Pooh
