| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 <<< It is with great sadness that his family announces the recent passing of retired police officer Ronald Roy Schroeder. Ron, 74, passed away Nov. 21, 2015. Ron was born Aril 18, 1941 in Savannah, Ga. He earned his degree in police science from California State University, Long Beach. He was hired onto the Long Beach Police Department Feb. 18, 1963 and retired Dec. 14, 1981. During those years, Ron also served in the Army 1966- 68. Ron relocated in 1981 to beautiful Lake Havasu City, where he resided until the time of his passing. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Col. Arnold L. Schroeder Sr., USAF - Ret.; his mother, Hazel Schroeder; sister, Sharla Schroeder- Read and son, Ryan Lancaster. Ron is survived by his life partner and best friend, Karen Lancaster; son, Chad Lancaster; son, Cord Schroeder Vandergrift; sister, Michele Schroeder Wright; and brother, Arnold L. Schroeder, Jr., as well as nieces, a nephew and grandchildren. Ron is also survived by many close friends. Ron held an important place in the minds and hearts of many people as a very, very good friend and fellow police officer. As Ron shared before his passing, he had fun during his life and always enjoyed making so many people laugh. His stories will live on forever. A celebration of life is Dec. 19, at Shugrue’s in the Makai Room, lower level, 1-4 p.m. |
