| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Wednesday, October 21. 2015 <<< Dennis Carey Macklin, 63, passed away Oct. 16, 2015 in Lake Havasu City. He was born to George and Helen Macklin Sept. 3, 1952 in Pasadena, Calif. He wed Allene Marie Coffey June 28, 1991 in Minden, Nev. They were married 24 years. Dennis enjoyed kayaking, bicycling, go-kart racing and International Chili Society Chili cook-offs. He was a member of Elks in California. Dennis loved his hat collection of almost 4,000 hats. He liked to keep busy and was always coming up with new projects; he was very organized. He was also quite a talker and enjoyed many conversations with his wife. Dennis is survived by his wife, Allene Macklin of Lake Havasu City; step-sons Douglas Wright of Gilbert and David Wright of Lake Forrest, Calif.; sister Patti Waterson of Bishop, Calif. and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Macklin. Dennis was always smiling and friendly. There were no strangers to him; just people he hadn’t met yet. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home and Crematory.
