Winslow (Windy) S. Quick, 83, passed away Sept. 28, 2015 in Lake
Havasu City. He was born May 14, 1932 in Glendale, Calif. to Sherman
and Marjorie Quick.

Windy grew up in Glendale, Calif. and married his high school
sweetheart, Martha (Marty) Harris, in 1951. In 1958, the family moved
to a newly-built house in La Crescenta, Calif.

A tool and die maker by trade, Windy was an expert machinist and also
enjoyed playing the banjo. He devoted his life to family, often
working two jobs to make ends meet. Child number six was born in 1968
and the family was complete.

After tragically losing his wife Marty to cancer in 1986, Windy joined
the San Fernando Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
He took great pleasure in supporting their philanthropic activities.

In 1994, Windy lost his only son, Bill, early in the year. He then
retired and moved to Lake Havasu City with his partner Irene
Fredrickson. He continued his involvement with the Elks. One of this
proudest achievements was serving as exalted ruler for the Lake Havasu
City BPO Elks Lodge 2399 in 2005-2006. He remained active with the
Elks, fulfilling his duties as a past exalted ruler even after Irene’s
passing in 2008.

Windy was very involved in his children’s’ lives and most particularly
enjoyed his years coaching his son’s baseball team. He was an avid
baseball fan. Windy was witty and had a great sense of humor. He will
be missed for his commitment to family, his unwillingness to give up
and his outspoken political views. He had a kind heart and a gentle
soul.

Windy is survived by his daughters, Margie Emmons, Cindy Andrews,
Lorie Higgins, Tammy Jones and Tina Snedaker; 12 grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren and a sister, Suzanne (Richard) Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Martha in 1986; son William
Sherman Quick in 1994; partner, Irene in 2008; brother, John in 2011
and his parents.

Arrangements are under the care of Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory,
veteran & family owned.
