| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on friday, September 25, 2015 <<< Steven LaMont Gronskei died peacefully, Sept. 21, 2015 at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Knute and Ruby Gronskei; brothers, Henry, Rodney, Gregory and sisters, JoAnn and Kathy. Steve was born in Minneapolis, Minn. June 7, 1953, and was the youngest of 11 children. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; children, Stephanie (Lathan) Berry, Jennifer Gronskei, Matthew (Jessica) Short, Kristina Davison and Michael Tabor; brothers, Larry (Marcia), James (Paulette), Bradley (Peggy), Loney and sister, Sandra (Leonard). Steve has numerous nieces and nephews across the country and has seven grandchildren, Lindy, Sophia, Charissa, LD, Madison, Lucas and Harlie. Steve served his country with pride, enlisting in 1972. He retired from the U.S. Navy in March 1993 and moved to Lake Havasu City. After moving, he worked for the Lake Havasu Unified School District for 20 years, retiring again in 2013. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Steve’s life at the Alano Club, 2041 Swanson Ave., Ste. 1, Lake Havasu City, Oct. 4 from noon to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sunrise Rotary/Denises’s Day, Hospice of Havasu, DAV, or to a charity of your choosing.
