| Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ >>> Published on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 <<< Darlene Smith passed away at home with her family by her side, late in the evening, Sept. 10, 2015 at the age of 77. Darlene is predeceased by her late husband, Clyde W. Smith, Jr. and her brother, Delbert (Larry) Day Jr.; Mary Lea Day, Fred Robert Day, and mother and father, Helen and Delbert Day. Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Will Kerby; her son, John Smith and his wife, Paula of Kemmerer, Wyo.; her sisters, Bev Lough (Lyle), Sandie Stoltenberg (Chris) and Pam Steinle (Mark); eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Darlene was born in Casper, Wyo., Sept. 15, 1937. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1955. Darlene worked for the Tooele County School District for 26 years, retired and moved to Lake Havasu City, with her husband, Clyde who later passed away in 2003; she then met Will Kerby and they were married, July 25, 2009 in Donnely, Idaho. Darlene loved giving back to the community; she was very active in her church and with her PEO Sisters. A memorial will be at Saint Michael’s United Methodist Church, 2895 S. Jamaica Blvd., Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Havasu, 365 S. Lake Havasu Ave., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86404.
